Military/Police of Nauru

The Republic of Nauru does not have any active military; the external defense of the Nauru Island is the responsibility of the Australian Government and their military. The defense agreement between the Nauru and the Australian is an informal agreement and has not been legally validated.

For internal security however, Nauru has a solid policing system and a professional police force which maintains the law and order situation on the Island, the police force is under the direct control of government.

Although, Nauru Island does not have any army, still under the international parameters, there are almost 2500+ individual fit for army, who can become part of the Nauruan defense in case there is a need for it.
